How It Works
OEM Headlights are made of polycarbonate which has the strength and light weight needed for today’s cars. To keep clean and clear polycarbonate headlights need a coating to protect it from the sun and rain. Over time the factory coating gives into the natural elements and becomes cloudy. Dvelup’s Headlight Restoration System repairs and replaces this damaged coating.
COMPARING TO OTHER TYPES OF REPAIR
Headlight restoration products are in several forms today. Below are some you may have seen.
- 1. Polish - Removes yellow cloudy layer but offers no real protection so deterioration
may return in several weeks. - 2. Spray-on - Offers protection but requires masking, allows debris to get in the coating,
and is not easily corrected if a problem arises. Some spray-on coatings require expensive UV curing lamps. Non UV cure spray-on coatings contain harsh solvents that weaken the polycarbonate and may delaminate later. - 3. Dvelup’s Headlight Restoration System has a solvent borne wipe-on coating with automotive grade UV blockers. It does not contain solvents that weaken polycarbonate. Its clarity and shine surpasses competing water based
coatings. It is easier to remove corrosion with our yellow extracting cleaner.
No masking, no polishing, and easy correction of mistakes.
- 1. Polish - Removes yellow cloudy layer but offers no real protection so deterioration
How To Apply
1. REMOVE CORROSION: Spray on Yellow X and follow the sanding steps. Yellow X extracts grime and makes corrosion removal easier.
2. PREP SURFACE: Spray on Yellow X and rinse with water. Spray on Yellow X again, rinse with water and wipe dry with clean paper towel. Yellow X strips away impurities and acts as a adhesion promoter for the best Lens Sealer bond.
3. APPLY HL LENS COAT: Lens Coat is applied with a supplied applicator towel. Saturate one half of the towel using medium pressure, start at the top and wipe from one side of the lens to the other, working your way down. Wipe lines will disappear within seconds. The lens will now be crystal clear.
