How To: Headlight Restoration
Restore clarity. Refresh the finish. Learn how to approach cloudy, yellowed headlight lenses with Dvelup’s professional headlight restoration products.
Watch: Headlight Saver instructions
The video below is also available on our Headlight Saver instructions page. Use the instructions supplied with your specific product as your guide. Different Dvelup restoration systems may require different preparation and application methods.
Before you begin
Inspect the lenses and identify whether the cloudiness is on the exterior surface. Cracks, internal haze, moisture inside the assembly, or other damage may need separate attention rather than exterior restoration.
Read your product’s label and supplied instructions before starting. Gather the materials specified for your system, protect surrounding surfaces, and follow the product’s safety and protective-equipment guidance.
Your restoration workflow
- Choose your system. Match the restoration product to the condition of the lenses. Do not assume Headlight Saver and the All-Inclusive Kit use the same process.
- Prepare the lenses. Follow your chosen system’s cleaning and surface-preparation instructions before applying any coating.
- Complete the restoration steps. If your system calls for sanding or polishing, use only the sequence and materials specified in its instructions.
- Apply the specified protection. Follow the directions for your system’s coating or protectant, including application conditions and drying or curing requirements.
- Inspect and maintain. Check the finished lenses and follow the product’s care instructions before exposing them to washing or weather.
